I found an interesting web page on trail clearing, here:

Does anyone in the razorback riders have some suggestions on what is good to carry for trail clearing?
I look forward to getting out on the trails again and doing some trail clearing.

I've seen guys mount chainsaws on bikes before, but never crosswise like that. That would not work well on the skinny trails we have around here, I'd bet. But some good info in there.
Here's what I use. Gerber also makes a version. I think Gerber and Fiskar are the same company now. Anyway, this thing works awesome:
